DIRECT VIEW LED
DVLED’s are unlike any other display or panel on the market. And don’t let the name fool you. They are nothing like traditional LED Screens.
Direct View LED displays eliminate the LCD panel entirely. Instead the surface array of LEDs are used as the actual display pixels. This allows for incredible contrast, vibrant colours and brightness levels several times that of traditional LCD screens. DVLED displays can also be made almost any size. This makes them the perfect choice for both indoor and outdoor applications. Because DVLED panels are bezel free it’s possible to create seamless video walls with a virtually unlimited number of displays. Infact, the only limit when working with Direct View LED is your imagination.

Pixel Pitch
Pixel pitch is the distance from the centre of a pixel to the centre of any adjacent one. The smaller the pixel pitch, the higher the density and the clearer the image. Greater pixel density carries a higher price tag, so the best way to choose the right option is to consider the optimal viewing distance for the type of content – whether its text, images or video; and its application (for company presentations, digital signage, etc).
A good rule of thumb for estimating the pixel pitch best suited to the viewing distance is 1mm of pixel pitch per 1M of viewing distance. Using this calculation to identify the best viewing distance a 2mm pixel pitch is best viewed from approximately 2 Meters away and the 5mm pixel pitch is best viewed from 5 Meters. For longer optimal viewing distances, a lower pixel pitch option will provide the perfect view and be more cost effective.

Traditional LCD VS DVLED
LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) Panels work by having a light source either behind or at the edge of the glass. Most LCDs are backlit by Light Emitting Diodes (LED’s), which provides a white light that goes through a shutter and becomes tinted to display colour on the screen.
However, Direct View LED (DVLED) Panels do not need backlights, edge lights, or a shutter. The LEDs directly light the display without the need for a filter. In testing DVLED panels are usually lighter, last longer, and emit less heat than traditional LCD panels.
